Going back to work this week has cemented in my mind that it's finally 2017. For me, 2016 went by in a blur, at the end of the year I had that dreaded feeling that I hadn't achieved anything. Until this point, each year of my life has ended with me passing exams, finally getting the job, graduating, moving, etc and for the first time in my life, last year I didn't have to deal with any of that - I just got on with my life...
I think it was this that lead me to the feeling of not achieving anything, because there were no major life events. 2016 wasn't a year of underachievement for me, I came on leaps and bounds in my personal and professional life, but from now on I've recognised that there probably won't be any major life events - I've already graduated, I'm happy at work with no plans to move on, I've left home...at this stage in my life, I'm happy with how far I've come, so, unless something goes horribly wrong, I'm not expecting anything 'big' from 2017.

That fact, however, doesn't mean that I don't have work to do. There's plenty of things I'd like to improve on personally and professionally, so today I thought I'd share them with you all, as in all honesty, I'm more likely to work towards them if I've written them down for the world to see. So here goes...
- Live a healthier lifestyle - in 2016 I really let my health slip, and as a result I've gained a lot of weight. This year I want to focus on transforming my health and really living a healthier lifestyle. I want to make a long term change instead of forcing myself into yoyo dieting.
- Get better with my money - I've had my fun, and now it's time to start saving. Getting on to the property ladder is hard for my generation, and although I find it extremely hard to save living in London, I'd like to give it a proper go this year.
- In 2017 I'd also like to see more of the world. There's so many places on my travel list, and if 2016 taught us anything, it's that life is short so it's time to start exploring now.
- Get back into blogging properly. Since eventually calling it a day with my beauty blog, Lipgloss and Lashes, back in spring last year, blogging has really taken a back seat and I miss it. I'd like to work on including more variation on this blog, and making sure I upload regularly.
- This year I'd also like to explore more of London. I'm lucky enough to live in a diverse and exciting city, and I fear I've become stuck in a rut, only visiting the same areas. I'd like to take the time to explore more of my city on the weekends.
What are your goals for 2017? I'd love to add more to my list but I definitely need some more inspiration!

Thank you so much Hayley! I completely agree, I feel that I always neglect the UK despite there being some seriously pretty areas right on our doorstep! xx
